After my last post, Shawn emailed and reminded me that in The Traveller Adventure, which was bundled with the Traveller Book, Marc has a section on rolling low against UPP attributes as a way to adjucate some situation that isn’t covered in the rules. That’s the closet I know of the method mentioned in the earlier post. Thank you for the reminder, Shawn! I had forgotten that.

The only other place I can think of that any other rolling rules might reside would be Starter Traveller. I don’t really feel like looking right now, but it did offer a simpler spaceship combat system, so maybe it offers some other things too.
